NHS Jobs is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join the team at Cygnet Fountains in Blackburn. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00, based at Pleasington Close. You will contribute to assessments, formulate care plans and deliver group programmes for men with complex mental health needs.

The candidate will have a Psychology degree (2:1+), BPS accreditation, and ideally Masters level. DBS check required; benefits include pension, CPD, and opportunities to engage in research.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent BPS accredited.
• Preferably health care experience or in an Assistant Psychologist role.
• Masters degree in Psychology is preferable.

Assistant Psychologist Cygnet Fountains
Location: Pleasington Close, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB2 1TU
Hours: Full-time (40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Salary : 28,826.70 per year

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Fountains. This role will be working Monday to Friday 9.00 to 17:00. Cygnet Fountains is a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. The individuals we support come to us following multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or stepping down from secure settings.

Job Role

• Contributing to assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written)
• Clinical formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes
• Administration, audit, research and service development

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited
• Preferably experienced in health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role
• Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Qualified to Masters degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
• Previous Assistant Psychologist experience, inpatient mental health experience or experience supporting people with psychosis, complex trauma or neurodevelopmental needs would be advantageous
