Job summary

JustOT is seeking an Assistant Psychologist in Milton Keynes to support the psychological wellbeing of residents under supervision. The post combines assessment, intervention and MDT collaboration within adult mental health services.

The role requires an Honours Degree in Psychology (BPS eligible) and experience in adult mental health. The contract includes a permanent and a 1-year fixed-term option with induction and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Psychology conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience within adult mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate psychological and rehabilitation support.
  • Conduct psychological assessments using psychometrics, self-report measures, rating scales and behavioural observations.
  • Support Clinicians with reviews, formulations, reports and psychological support plans.
  • Assist with therapeutic groups, goal setting, risk management and promoting residents' psychological, social and leisure needs.
  • Liaise empathetically with residents, relatives, carers and wider professionals regarding care and treatment.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to meetings, case reviews and MDT discussions.
  • Support research, audit, data collection, analysis and evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, training, appraisal, service development and clinical governance activities.
  • Maintain professional training and comply with health, safety, data protection, safeguarding and organisational policies.

Our Well now client has a fantastic Permanent, Fixed-Term 1 Year Assistant Psychologist vacancy in Milton Keynes to support the psychological wellbeing and care of all the residents through assessment and monitoring and providing psychological interventions under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologist and/or Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist.

Job Summary
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised psychological and rehabilitation support.
  • Conduct psychological assessments using psychometrics, self-report measures, rating scales and behavioural observations, monitoring and recording progress.
  • Support Clinical Psychologists/Neuropsychologists with clinical reviews, formulations, reports and psychological support plans.
  • Assist with therapeutic groups, goal setting, risk management and promoting residents’ psychological, social and leisure needs.
  • Liaise empathetically with residents, relatives, carers and wider professionals regarding care and treatment.

Qualifications

Experience
  • Experience within adult mental health services.

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload independently under the direction of a Consultant.
  • Knowledge of psychological theories and therapies.
