Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Psychologist at Bromley Road Hospital in London. The role offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with supervision from a Senior Psychologist. You will assist with assessments, formulations, and treatment, and engage in clinically related administration tasks such as audits and research.

You will conduct 1:1 or group interventions, contribute to reflective practice, and help design training while maintaining clinical databases and outcome measures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in Psychology conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience as an Assistant Psychologist in forensic/mental health settings preferred.
  • Experience maintaining office systems and undertaking administration tasks.
  • Commitment to evidence-based therapeutic interventions and reflective practice.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to psychological assessments and formulations.

Job description

Then join Bromley Road Hospital as an Assistant Psychologist where you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team to make a real difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society. In this specialist mental health setting, you will work with men and women addressing conditions such as depression, self‑harm, physical health concerns, and psychological distress including trauma. As an Assistant Psychologist you will assist with assessments, formulations, and treatment of service users under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist, and engage in clinically related administration tasks like audits, statistics collection, and research projects. This full‑time role (37.5 hours/week) offers numerous career development opportunities from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including contributing to psychological assessments and interventions on a 1:1 or group basis, designing and delivering specialist training, assisting with reflective practice, managing clinical databases, and completing outcome measures.

You will work at Bromley Road, a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issues, complex needs and complicated addiction problems. People in your care may include those who have a forensic history and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive support and risk reduction strategies, as well as providing opportunities for social inclusion and building skills for independent living. The team at Bromley Road work alongside service users, supporting them in their therapy programmes, building coping strategies and increasing their life skills. The aim at Bromley Road is to keep the length of stay to a minimum by planning discharge at the point of admission. Communication with families and valued support networks are encouraged by an experienced and values led staff team.

What You’ll Get
