Job summary

Cygnet Grange and Lodge in Sutton in Ashfield is hiring an Assistant Psychologist on a 12 month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a salary of £29,642.55 per year.

You will contribute to assessments, adapt materials for communication needs, formulate clinical plans, and deliver group programmes within a multidisciplinary team. You will receive weekly supervision and ongoing development opportunities, and a DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology (2:1 or higher) or equivalent.
• BPS accreditation is required.
• Master’s degree in Psychology is preferred.
• Experience as an Assistant Psychologist is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to direct and indirect assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written).
• Adapting assessment methods for communication difficulties, sensory needs or cognitive impairment.
• Clinical/neuropsychological formulation and care plan development.
• Overseeing gathering and collation of incident data as part of analysis.
• Communicating results and recommendations to the multidisciplinary team.
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual/group programmes.
• Administration, audit, research and service development.
• Weekly supervision and ongoing development opportunities.

Education

Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above)

BPS Accredited

Masters degree in Psychology (preferable)

Experience as Assistant Psychologist (preferable)

We are looking for a passionate Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Grange and Lodge.

Cygnet Hospital Grange and Lodge are two 8 bed Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation, care and treatment facilities for those affected by acquired brain injuries. The services provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease, like Huntington's Disease, a caring and long term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Contributing to direct and indirect assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written).
• Adapting assessment methods, intervention materials in accordance with clients' communication difficulties, sensory needs or cognitive impairment.
• Clinical/neuropsychological formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
• To oversee the gathering and collation of incident data and evidence as part of the functional analysis and formulation.
• Communicating results, formulations and recommendations arising from assessments to the multidisciplinary team.
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes.
• Administration, audit, research and service development.
• You would receive weekly supervision as well as informal support and development opportunities.

We\'re looking for someone who is...

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited
• Qualified to Master's degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
• Experienced in an Assistant Psychologist role (preferable)
• Passionate about neuro rehabilitation, learning, and working as part of a multidisciplinary

Please note: successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
