Cygnet Group in Sutton in Ashfield is seeking an Assistant Psychologist to support neurorehabilitation services at Cygnet Grange and Lodge. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term maternity cover offers a structured clinical role with weekly supervision and multidisciplinary teamwork.

The role focuses on assessments, data gathering, and developing care plans with the psychology team, delivering group and individual programmes, and contributing to service development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology with 2:1 or above.
• BPS Accredited.
• Master's degree in Psychology preferred.
• Experience as Assistant Psychologist preferable.
• Interest in neuro rehabilitation and multidisciplinary work.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to direct and indirect assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal/written).
• Adapt assessment methods for clients' communication, sensory needs or cognitive impairment.
• Clinical/neuropsychological formulation and care plans for psychological treatment.
• Oversee collection of incident data as part of functional analysis and formulation.
• Communicate results and recommendations to the multidisciplinary team.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate individual and group programmes.
• Administration, audit, research and service development.
• Weekly supervision and ongoing development opportunities.

Education

Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above)

BPS Accredited

Master's degree in Psychology (preferred)

We are looking for a passionate Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Grange and Lodge.

Cygnet Hospital Grange and Lodge are two 8 bed Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation, care and treatment facilities for those affected by acquired brain injuries. The services provides a safe and secure place to aid recovery as well as offering those diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease, like Huntington's Disease, a caring and long term placement to support and help manage the progression of their symptoms.

Your Day-to-Day

We are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the Psychology department with;

• Contributing to direct and indirect assessments, scoring and reporting (verbal / written).
• Adapting assessment methods, intervention materials in accordance with clients' communication difficulties, sensory needs or cognitive impairment.
• Clinical/neuropsychological formulation and implementing care plans for psychological treatment
• To oversee the gathering and collation of incident data and evidence as part of the functional analysis and formulation.
• Communicating results, formulations and recommendations arising from assessments to the multidisciplinary team.
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual / group programmes.
• Administration, audit, research and service development.
• You would receive weekly supervision as well as informal support and development opportunities.

We're looking for someone who is

• Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited
• Qualified to Master's degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
• Experienced in an Assistant Psychologist role(preferable)
• Passionate about neuro rehabilitation, learning, and working as part of a multidisciplinary
