ARCA Consulting Ltd is looking for an Assistant Project Accountant to support the Commercial & Finance team in Gloucester. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial and Project Managers, assisting with budgets, invoicing, cost monitoring and financial analysis to drive project profitability.

This role is ideal for a graduate or finance professional with up to two years’ experience, offering hybrid working, training and mentoring, and a clear progression into Project Accounting and

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years' experience in finance, accounting or commercial role.
• Numerate, analytical and highly organised.
• Detail-focused with strong Excel skills.
• Confident communicating with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to develop.
• Experience with Xero, or ACCA/CIMA/ACA studies advantageous but not essential.

ARCA Consulting is supporting a growing engineering and infrastructure business in the appointment of an Assistant Project Accountant to join its Commercial & Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or finance professional with up to two years’ experience looking to develop a career in project accounting within the engineering, construction, utilities or infrastructure sectors.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Commercial, Project Managers and Finance team, supporting:

• Project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting
• Client invoicing and applications for payment
• Cost monitoring and project profitability
• Management reporting, KPIs and cash-flow forecasting
• Month‑end and year‑end accounting activities
• Project administration and financial analysis

About You

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two experience within a finance, accounting or commercial role.
