Job summary

NHS Wiltshire is seeking a part-time Assistant Practice Manager to support the Practice Manager and Lead GP in delivering safe, effective patient care. The role covers Clinical Governance, HR and Business Administration, with emphasis on strong team leadership and cross-team communication.

We value a hands-on, positive approach and experience in GP practice management or similar, with flexibility to attend meetings and cover administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in running a busy department or practice.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of HR processes and dealings.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with relevant software.
• Experience in finance/ accounts, planning and organising.
• Understanding and respect for confidentiality and information governance requirements.
• Conscientious, hardworking, flexible and trustworthy.
• Ability to lead a team through periods of change and uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice alongside the current Practice Manager and Lead GP.
• Provide leadership in delivering safe and effective patient care, including Clinical Governance, HR and Business Administration.
• Ensure good communication between all members of the team.
