Assistant Performance and Operations Manager in Children's Emergency Department - Bristol Royal Hospital for Children

This role has been established within Paediatric Services at the Children's Hospital to work closely with the Performance & Operations Manager, General Manager and Clinicians. The post-holder will manage operational activities, performance, data analysis and staff within Children's Emergency Department at UHBW NHS Trust.

The post-holder will oversee the performance of the Children’s Emergency Department, completing data analysis reports where required. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of challenging performance targets through validation and effective communication and liaison with Consultant, medical, nursing and administrative staff across the BRHC on a day to day basis.

The post holder will line manage the Reception Team Supervisor providing training and support for the team, including the management of annual leave, sickness, appraisals and ensuring sufficient cover is provided.

Main duties of the job
  • To prepare, produce and present performance summary reports to the wider Children's ED clinical team and Divisional Management Team
  • Oversee performance and ensure timely validation of data to enable reporting to NHSE daily, and in line with month end targets
  • Produce comprehensive performance reports detailing areas for concern and suggested improvements, working closely with management team and wider hospital to enact new processes to improve performance
  • To line manage the admin team within the department
  • Provide ongoing suggestions to improve processes to ensure effectiveness
  • Play an active role in service redesign projects and development of process identified
  • Act as a day to day point of contact for clinicians, Divisional management team, Clinical Site Team and the wider hospital
