Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking an Assistant Pathway Administrator at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospitals. The role supports clinical admin teams with day-to-day service, including clinic management, post handling and EPR-based tasks.

Candidates should have vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience, and be precise with information. The role offers competitive pay, flexible bank shifts across Trusts and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

  • Vocational Level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and other office software.
  • Desirable knowledge of EPR systems and related admin tasks.
  • Accurate, precise data handling and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients on the EPR system and book appointments.
  • Upload ERS referrals and A&G communications.
  • Keep paperwork updated for outpatient appointments.
  • Action clinic outcome forms and process clinic letters.
  • Scan incoming post and paperwork into EPR.
  • Book, cancel and reschedule clinics as required.
  • Handle incoming post and calls with prompt administrative support.
  • Assist with clinic management and manage txt reminders.

Job description

Job Title: Assistant Pathway Administrator

Location: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospitals, Windmill Road, Headington, Oxford OX3 7HE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.00pm

Trust Location: Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Role type: Temporary for 2 months with possibility of extension

Role details

To assist clinical admin teams with running day to day service, supporting the administrative staff with managing clinics, post and other administrative duties as required

Duties to include but not limited to:
  • Register patients on the EPR system and book appointment as required.
  • Upload ERS referrals and A&G communication
  • Keep paperwork stocked up and up to date for outpatient appointments.
  • Action clinic outcome forms
  • Process clinic letters via Dictate IT and Dragon VR systems
  • Scan all incoming post and other paperwork into EPR.
  • Booking, cancelling and rescheduling clinics as required.
  • Dealing with incoming post and phone calls requiring administrative support for patients, staff and external organisations promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist with clinic management, confirming patient appointments in advance and manage txt reminders

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word and other Microsoft packages
  • EPR system knowledge (highly desirable)
  • Good level of concentration
  • Be precise and accurate with information provided
  • Good written and verbal skills
