Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced Assistant Overseas Visitors Manager to join the Overseas Visitors Team across Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospital sites. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Overseas Visitors Team as an Assistant Overseas Visitors Manager at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This specialist role plays a vital part in ensuring the Trust complies with Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Overseas Visitor Charging Regulations. Working across Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospital sites, you will identify patients who may be subject to charging regulations, determine eligibility for NHS-funded treatment, provide expert advice to staff and patients, and support the recovery of income due to the Trust.
You will work closely with clinical teams, finance colleagues, external agencies and patients, managing complex cases with professionalism, sensitivity and attention to detail. The role also includes supervising Assistant Overseas Visitors Officers, supporting service development initiatives, and deputising for the Overseas Visitors Manager when required.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong NHS operational experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex legislation within a patient-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work full-time across both Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospital sites and will play a key role in supporting compliance, improving patient experience and maximising appropriate income recovery for the Trust.
The Assistant Overseas Visitors Manager is responsible for supporting the Trust's compliance with Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Overseas Visitor Charging Regulations. Working across Frimley Park and Wexham Park Hospital sites, the postholder will identify patients who may be chargeable for NHS treatment, assess eligibility for NHS-funded care, and provide specialist advice to patients, staff and external organisations.
The successful candidate will manage complex overseas visitor cases, conduct patient interviews, review immigration and residency documentation, and liaise with agencies such as the Home Office and insurance providers to determine entitlement to treatment. They will also support the financial management of overseas visitor charging, including raising cost estimates and invoices, obtaining payments, and contributing to debt recovery processes.
The role includes supervising Assistant Overseas Visitors Officers, providing training and guidance to staff, supporting service improvement initiatives, and deputising for the Overseas Visitors Manager when required. The postholder will work autonomously, maintaining accurate records and ensuring a professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach at all times.
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.
