Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 2 Receptionist for the Paediatrics department at Frimley Park Hospital. The role is part-time (24 hours a week) with a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Camberley.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a pleasant, professional manner and direct them appropriately.
  • Encourage use of self-check in machines where applicable.
  • Handle requests with dignity and respect when possible.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Trust staff.
  • Ensure all blood forms are available before clinics commence.
  • Check and update patient details in EPIC as required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and dedicated Paediatrics team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Band 2 Receptionist.

As one of the first points of contact for our patients and their families, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, friendly and supportive experience. You will be part of a busy team, helping our clinics run smoothly and ensuring that patients receive an efficient, professional and caring service.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for the day-to-day reception service within the department, including welcoming and assisting patients and families, supporting busy clinics and working closely with colleagues across the Trust.

A key part of your role will be developing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with clinicians, nursing staff, Directorate administration teams and other Trust colleagues..

Main duties of the job
  • To greet every patient in a pleasant, professional, and calm manner, directing the patient to the appropriate area.
  • To encourage patients in a polite manner to use self-check in machines where applicable, assisting as appropriate.
  • To deal with patients in a polite and respectful manner complying with their requests where possible and where it is not possible to deal with them with dignity and respect.
  • To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all
  • Trust staff including clinicians, nursing staff and Directorate administration staff to provide an accurate, efficient, professional, and seamless service to patients and visitors.
  • To ensure all blood forms are available before the commencement of the clinic.
  • To check patient details are correct and amend or update details on EPIC, when necessary, in accordance with standards set by Information Governance.
