Pendle Borough Council are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to take on the opportunity of becoming their Assistant Operations Manager within their high-achieving and respected Waste Services team.
The Waste Services team, on behalf of Operational Services, deliver critical, essential and income generating services throughout the Borough of Pendle. More widely, the service area has a major role in delivering key milestones for the Council and as such we are looking to recruit a person with proven service delivery experience and a desire to meet the challenges that East Lancashire, District colleagues, the County and the new Unitary Authority will face over the coming years.
The postholder will have day-to-day responsibility of overseeing a wide range of services, they will need to be driven and mindful of the importance of ensuring all scheduled works are completed. The postholder will lead a team of supervisors and approximately 70 full time frontline employees.
Pendle is in Lancashire’s scenic Pennines, close to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and Manchester.

Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, Pennine and West Lancashire from April 2028.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Pendle Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to Pennine Lancashire from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
