Hyndburn Borough Council is seeking a Planning Manager (Development Management) to lead the delivery and improvement of the development management service, including enforcement. You will handle complex planning applications, work with the Head of Planning and Transportation, and engage with residents, applicants and elected members.

The Planning Manager (Development Management) will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and ongoing improvement of our development management service, together with planning enforcement, and you will personally handle more complex planning applications.
The Planning Manager (Development Management) will be a highly motivated, qualified and experienced planner who will be expected to work with the Head of Planning and Transportation to ensure that the development management service is efficient, proactive and customer focussed. Strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage within the Council, with its residents, applicants, and elected members, are essential.
You should be a member of the RTPI with an excellent knowledge and experience of planning and development control. You should also be computer literate and understand development control IT systems, able to manage people and budgets, and also possess strong negotiation skills.
