Job summary

Knowsley Council is seeking an exceptional Senior Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across neighbourhood services, including waste, grounds maintenance, cleansing and winter gritting. The role reports to the Head of Service and leads large multidisciplinary teams with substantial budgets.

We require a proven leader who can drive service excellence, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote value for money while protecting frontline delivery five days a week.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across a range of neighbourhood services. This is a high-profile role that will play a critical part in shaping and delivering front-line services that have a direct impact on our communities every day.

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will lead the operational delivery and continuous improvement of key neighbourhood services, ensuring services are safe, efficient, customer-focused and represent best value.

You will be responsible for leading large, multidisciplinary teams and managing significant operational budgets whilst ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities and council priorities.

As Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and managing the essential frontline functions of waste and recycling, grounds maintenance, cleansing and winter gritting ensuring high standards of service delivery.

Your role will involve contributing to the strategic direction of the service, developing and implementing policies, managing stakeholder relationships, and overseeing performance and quality. You will also be responsible for promoting a high performing culture across the services, ensuring a customer focussed approach and a drive for continuous improvement, best practice and value for money.

To be successful, you will have experience of overseeing cross-functional teams, that comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. You will have a strong customer focus, with the residents experience at the heart of the services you deliver.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. There is a requirement for you to attend your work base five day's per week due to the operational frontline nature of the services.
