Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting for a part-time, permanent role based in Lancashire. You will support people with disabilities in a day service setting, helping them take part in a range of activities and learn new skills.

The role emphasises compassion, empathy, and a sense of purpose, with on-going training and opportunities to gain qualifications for career progression.

Job description

Salary £25,949 - £25,989 | 35 hours per week | Permanent, Part time | Lancashire

It is not essential that you have a background in Health and Social Care, you just need to have a good heart and a caring nature. You will support people with disabilities within a day service setting to take part in a range of in-house activities.

We're looking for people who will bring compassion, empathy and a sense of purpose into the lives of others.

  • You will help people to learn new skills, provide assistance to someone who has a disability or needs support with aspects of their care.
  • You will support someone in the day service or on occasional trips out and about in the community.
  • You'll have plenty of opportunity to progress with training and gaining qualifications whilst you work.

Job Description and Person Specification

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
