Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Assistant Manager in our CFO Solutions team. You’ll support clients across industries, lead teams on and off site, and deliver accounting projects including management and statutory accounts.

You’ll mentor colleagues and help clients transition to new accounting standards while ensuring high-quality financial reporting. You will also review and improve clients’ financial processes, prepare year-end packs, and contribute to improving internal systems.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering accountancy projects, including management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Experience of preparing or overseeing consolidations.
• Experience of leading or supervising a team.
• Experience of reviewing financial processes and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for working with clients at all levels.
• Flexibility to work on client sites, including on secondment.
• Good organisational and IT skills.
• A proactive approach and a willingness to get stuck in.

Responsibilities

• Lead client projects across a wide range of industries.
• Provide accountancy, advisory and project management support to clients.
• Take responsibility for leading teams on and off site, delivering projects.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation and consolidations.
• Support clients in moving to new accounting standards and financial reporting changes.
• Deliver high-quality financial reporting.
• Prepare management accounts and completion accounts.
• Review and design management reporting for clients.
• Prepare year-end audit packs and help clients be ready for audit.
• Improve client financial processes and internal systems.
• Work with clients on secondment and develop others.
