Job summary

The Hampshire Hog, a traditional Fuller’s pub known for its food and warm atmosphere, is seeking an Assistant Manager (Bar Manager) to lead daily operations, supervise front-of-house teams, and ensure top service.

You will manage line cleanliness, stock control, weekly orders, cellar upkeep, and uphold food safety standards while delivering engaging training and developing staff in a fast-paced, guest‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a busy bar or pub operation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Capable of managing stock, ordering, and stock control.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Hands-on leader with decision-making ability.

Responsibilities

• Line cleaning and weekly maintenance of beer and dispense lines.
• Perform monthly stock take and weekly stock checks with variance identification.
• Maintain excellent stock rotation to minimise waste.
• Manage weekly bar orders and coordinate with events.
• Keep cellar clean, organised and compliant with standards.
• Lead day-to-day operations with strong decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

What we look for in an Assistant Manager (Bar Manager):

• Line cleans : Take ownership of weekly line cleaning, ensuring all beer and dispense lines are cleaned consistently weekly.
  Stock take : Complete monthly stock take as well as a weekly stock line check ensuring all bar stock is correctly counted, recorded, and reconciled, while identifying any variances.
• Stock rotation : Maintain excellent stock rotation, minimising waste and ensuring product quality.
• Weekly ordering : Manage weekly bar orders accurately, balancing stock levels, and upcoming events.
• Cellar Management : Keep the cellar organised, clean, and well maintained.
• Standards and compliance : Ensure all cellar and bar procedures meet company standards and food safety requirements.
• A hands-on leader with the ability to manage the day-to-day running of the business.
