Job summary

Fromebridge Mill in Whitminster is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to lead a busy, high-volume operation on a daily basis. You will work closely with the General Manager to drive sales, maintain top service standards, and develop a strong, hands-on team in a welcoming environment.

You will be at the heart of delivering great hospitality, managing peak periods, and ensuring a smooth operation from carvery to the bar. A passion for people and customer experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Assistant Manager or similar hospitality role.
• Experience in a busy pub, restaurant or high-volume hospitality environment.
• Strong people leadership skills and the confidence to lead an established team.
• A hands-on approach - you're happiest working alongside your team rather than sitting behind a desk.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate people.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub.
• Taking ownership of busy shifts and confidently leading the team.

With the size and pace of the operation, experience really matters. We're looking for someone who is comfortable leading a large team and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

• Commercial awareness and the drive to help grow the business.
• The ability to stay calm, organised and positive when the pub is busy.

Personal Licence:

As this role may involve covering the business in the General Manager's absence, you'll need to be eligible to hold a Personal Licence. You don't need to have one when you apply. If you're successful, Greene King will support you through the process of obtaining your licence.
