Job summary

Highway Garden & Leisure in Norwich, Norfolk, is seeking a dynamic Hospitality Assistant Manager to join our management team overseeing restaurant and café operations. You will support the Head Chef and Front of House leadership to deliver an unforgettable dining experience for guests.

Key duties include coaching and developing leaders, managing rotas and holidays, handling customer feedback, and driving sales.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Manager/Assistant Manager in a fast paced hospitality business is essential.
• Proven track record of developing excellence in people, procedures and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Front of House leadership to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.
• Coach and develop leaders and teams to maximise sales and standards.
• Work with Store Manager to improve commercial performance across Gardening, Retail and Hospitality.
• Lead recruitment and training for new employees.
• Duty Management across all aspects of the Highways business.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly.
• Manage rotas, scheduling, staffing levels and holidays.
• Maintain good knowledge of food safety and hygiene legislation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Hospitality Assistant Manager, to join our management team overseeing our restaurant and café operations, at Highway Garden & Leisure in Norwich, Norfolk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting our Head Chef and Front of House leadership, to ensure an unforgettable dining experience for guests.
• Coaching and supporting the development of leaders and teams to deliver exceptional customer service and excellent restaurant standards, to maximise sales and profitability.
• Working alongside the Store Manager to improve the commercial performance across all areas of the Highways Business (Gardening, Retail and Hospitality).
• Leading recruitment initiatives and ensuring new employees are equipped with the knowledge and training to be successful.
• Duty Management across all aspects of the Highways business.
• Handling customer feedback and taking ownership to resolve any issues or complaints, promptly and professionally.
• To achieve targets through effective performance management of your team.
• Managing rotas, including scheduling, staffing levels, and holidays.
• Have a good working knowledge of food safety and hygiene legislation.

Experience as a Manager/Assistant Manager in a fast paced hospitality business is essential for this position. As is having a proven track record of developing excellence in people, procedures, and customer service to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.

Although not essential, the ideal candidate will also have experience within the retail or gardening industry, as you will have management responsibility for Hospitality, but also Duty Management across all aspects of the Highways business.
