Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers in Basingstoke is seeking a confident, customer-focused Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager, lead a motivated team, and drive commercial success in a fast-paced retail environment.

You’ll manage day-to-day store operations, coach and develop colleagues, deliver sales targets, optimise stock availability and visual merchandising, and ensure compliance with health & safety and GDPR while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role in retail or customer-facing environments.
• Experience managing stock, merchandising, and achieving commercial targets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, including sales, stock control, and customer service.
• Confident interpreting financial data and managing budgets.
• Solid IT skills and awareness of Health & Safety and GDPR compliance.
• Natural ability to lead, motivate and inspire others.
• Proactive, approachable and solution-focused with a team-oriented attitude.

We’re looking for a confident and customer-focused Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a key leadership role in supporting the Store Manager, driving commercial success, and ensuring every customer enjoys an exceptional experience. About The Role

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis

As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the store. You’ll lead by example, inspire your team, and create a positive, knowledgeable, and solution-focused environment that reflects our values. You’ll also take on the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence.
