Empower Family Group in Taunton, Somerset, is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team. This role offers an excellent development opportunity for an aspiring accountant in a supportive environment, with study support available.

You will assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end management accounts for eight group entities, perform data analysis, post journals in Xero, reconcile balances and contribute to financial reports.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
• Proven experience in a similar accounting role or practice-based role and moving into industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience of preparing management accounts and general bookkeeping.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end management accounts for eight group entities.
• Data analysis and preparation of detailed accrued/deferred income and prepayments/accruals workings.
• Preparing and posting journal entries in Xero.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and identifying new fixed assets.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and presentations.
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
• Assist in payroll processing activities.
• Maintain financial records and working papers for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor budgets and track variances across the business.
• Drive financial analysis to inform key business decisions.
• Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and continuous process improvements.
• Support day-to-day finance team operations.
