Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd is partnering with a growing organisation in Somerset to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant in Taunton. You will support monthly, quarterly and year-end close and contribute to wider finance projects.

The role suits a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or someone studying towards a qualification, with strong Excel skills and a proactive, organised approach. Flexible full-time or part-time hours are available.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or actively studying towards qualification.
• Experience in a similar accounting role, or looking to move from practice.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
• Experience preparing management accounts.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end management accounts.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Analyse financial data and support reporting activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset registers.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support payroll processing where required.
• Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reports.
• Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.
• Work closely with the wider finance team to support business objectives.
