Job summary

RG Consultancy are working with a well established medium-sized company seeking an assistant management accountant to join the finance team on a full-time, permanent basis in Halifax.

Reporting to the head of finance, you will help prepare monthly management accounts, monitor cashflow, handle payroll and VAT, and support year-end activities and audits. This is an office-based role with flexible hours within core business time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts including accruals, prepayments and journals
• Monitor bank balances, cash flow, payment status and manage fund transfers
• Process cashbook postings, payment runs, wages, staff expenses and credit card expenses
• Manage debtor activity, including chasing overdue payments and updating records
• Handle general post, direct debit notifications, and provide email cover during absences
• Perform inter-company reconciliations
• Prepare VAT on account payments and quarterly VAT returns via MTD
• Support year-end close and assist with audit preparation, including payroll audit steps
• Other adhoc duties across finance
