Butler Rose Ltd is partnering with a growing organisation in Somerset to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant in Taunton. You will support monthly, quarterly and year-end close and contribute to wider finance projects.

The role suits a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or someone studying towards a qualification, with strong Excel skills and a proactive, organised approach. Flexible full-time or part-time hours are available.

Qualifications

Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or actively studying towards qualification.
Experience in a similar accounting role, or looking to move from practice.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
Experience preparing management accounts.
Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end management accounts.
Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
Analyse financial data and support reporting activities.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed asset registers.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Support payroll processing where required.
Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reports.
Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.
Work closely with the wider finance team to support business objectives.
