Job summary

Sharp Consultancy are working with a well-established business in Sheffield to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to develop their technical accounting skills and progress their career within a supportive finance function.

The successful candidate will receive full study support and will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as their experience

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance or accounting environment.
• AAT qualification or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or pursuing a professional qualification.
• Strong accounting and finance skills with a desire to progress in management accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and management accounting duties.
• Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial and management information.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis for the wider finance team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure accurate financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a well-established business in Sheffield who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is looking to develop their technical accounting skills and progress their career within a supportive finance function. The successful candidate will receive full study support and will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as their experience develops.

The Role

Reporting into the senior finance team, the Assistant Management Accountant will support with a range of month-end and management accounting duties, including:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assisting with month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
• Supporting with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assisting with analysis of financial and management information
• Maintaining accurate general ledger records
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
• Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure accurate financial information is maintained
• Continuously looking for opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience within a finance or accounting environment and be keen to progress their career within management accounting.

You may be AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or actively working towards a professional qualification, although candidates with strong relevant experience and a genuine desire to progress will also be considered.
