Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Glasgow is offering a temporary Assistant Housing Officer role in Toryglen. The role supports delivering a high-quality housing service to residents, balancing ASB and arrears work with estate management across a team of Housing staff.

You will handle administrative duties, receive training, and contribute to customer service excellence. The position offers 37.5 hours per week, a salary of £29,217 per year, and benefits including training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5
  • SVQ2 in relevant area
  • Some experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
  • Working knowledge of deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Some knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Some experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a quality housing management service that meets the needs and expectations of current/future residents and the wider community in line with Sanctuary in Scotland's business plan
  • Coordinate low-level ASB, Arrears and Estate Management cases in line with prescribed policies and practices ensuring remedial action is taken to build community cohesion
  • Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes
  • Develop, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, residents, staff and external agencies, to ensure effective management of housing services
  • Support the management of all complaints for service area in line with policy, focusing on first contact resolution and identifying future learning opportunities

Temporary position for up to 12 months

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Housing Officer to join our team in Toryglen, Glasgow. For this position you will be expected to support the delivery of a high-quality housing service that meets the identified needs of our customers in accordance with the Sanctuary in Scotland's business plan. Y ou will be working in a team of 10, Housing Manager, Assistant Housing Officers, Housing Officers and a Welfare Rights Officer. You will work on a variety of administrative tasks to provide support and enable the delivery of a high-quality housing management service. You will receive full training, on-going support and opportunities to develop. Whilst this is a very diverse and challenging role, it is equally rewarding. If you are highly motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service, this could be the role for you.

The role of Assistant Housing Officer will include:
  • Support the delivery of a quality housing management service that meets the needs and expectations of current/future residents and the wider community in line with Sanctuary in Scotland's business plan
  • Support the coordination of low-level ASB, Arrears and Estate Management cases in line with the prescribed policies and practices ensuring that remedial action is taken to build community cohesion
  • Meet all legislative and regulatory requirements for housing management activities, ensuring the provision of quality and safe homes for Sanctuary in Scotland customers and to minimise potential risks
  • Develop, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, residents, staff and external agencies, to ensure the effective management of housing services, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensure these are acted upon
  • Support the management of all complaints for service area in line with policy, focussing on first contact resolution and the identification of future learning opportunities to achieve customer service excellence
