Job summary

Aspris Children's Services seeks a dedicated leader to support students with SEND at Clay Hill School, an independent special school. The role includes strengthening the leadership team and driving inclusive practices, personal development, and safeguarding across the school.

Key duties include leading behaviour and engagement, functioning as Safeguarding Lead, and assisting the SENDCo, with responsibilities across KS2–KS4 and collaboration with staff, families, and external agencies to deliver

Qualifications

• Honours degree in a related subject.
• PGCE or equivalent in primary or secondary education.
• QTSp/Teaching Status required.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting inclusive practices and personal development across the school and ensuring that all learners have access to high-quality education tailored to their individual needs. We are seeking a candidate to build and strengthen our leadership team and its capacity to support the school. Areas of responsibility could include some or all of the following, though we are open to ideas for candidates with particular strengths;

• Behaviour and engagement
• Safeguarding Lead
• Personal development
• Assistant SENDCo role
  Honours degree in a related subject
• PGCE or equivalent in secondary or primary education
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Ability to deliver elements of key curriculum areas
• Successful experience teaching the relevant subject at Key Stage 2, 3 or 4
• Leadership and management experience
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and students.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent relationships with children and young people
• Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
