Darwen Vale High School (DVHS) is an 11-18 academy with a newly evolving sixth form, collaborating with two other Aldridge Education schools in the town: DACA and DAES. The school’s students are drawn from Darwen, neighbouring Blackburn, and approximately 30% qualify for free school meals.
DVHS opened in redesigned and refurbished buildings in September 2012, growing from 150 to 240 students per year group. It has seen rapid improvements recently, with significant gains in student achievement, leading to oversubscription for several years.
Following a recent Ofsted inspection, Darwen Vale received a ‘Good’ rating across all areas. The school's motto – "We aim high. We work hard. We care. We are Vale." – reflects the community’s commitment to ongoing success and excellence.
This role is term time plus INSET and 2 weeks, totaling 40 weeks. The salary mentioned is the pro-rata actual salary.
