Job summary

Ardencote Manor - Hiddenwell is seeking an experienced Assistant Head Housekeeper to support the Head Housekeeper in day-to-day operations of our luxury hospitality retreat. This full-time, permanent role offers £31,000 per annum and starts 12 October 2026.

You will lead the housekeeping team, ensure rooms and public areas meet luxury standards, coordinate workloads, and collaborate with Front Office. Previous housekeeping leadership in luxury settings and a hands-on approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have previous housekeeping experience in hotel or luxury resort.
• Must have experience supervising or leading a team.
• Must have strong attention to detail and high standards.
• Must have excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Experience with Health & Safety practices is required.
• Luxury hotel or spa experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Housekeeper with the smooth day-to-day running of the department.
• Lead, motivate and support the housekeeping team.
• Allocate daily workloads and coordinate the team.
• Inspect bedrooms and public areas to ensure exceptional standards.
• Monitor room turnaround and help keep operations running efficiently.
• Respond to guest requests and feedback professionally.
• Work closely with Front Office and other departments.
• Support rotas, recruitment, onboarding, training and team development.
• Helping manage linen, cleaning products, equipment and departmental stock.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensure Health & Safety and COSHH procedures are followed.
• Step in and provide hands-on support whenever the team needs you.
