Job summary

Public House Group is seeking an exceptional Assistant General Manager to join our team at The Hero! in London.

You’ll work side-by-side with the General Manager to oversee daily operations of a vibrant, high-volume gastro pub, leading a hands-on team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. You’ll recruit and train a diverse team, maintain quality and safety standards, manage budgets, drive revenue, and build strong relationships with guests while championing excellent service and ongoing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as AGM or restaurant manager.
• Experience in fine dining or high-end venues preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service and efficiency.
• Recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality, hospitality, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Control budgets, manage costs, and work towards meeting revenue targets.
• Act as a visible leader, building relationships with guests and handling feedback professionally.
• Work closely with the management team to implement new ideas that enhance the guest experience and drive business growth.

What you'll be doing as an Assistant General Manager:

About you, our new Assistant General Manager:

• Proven experience as an AGM, Restaurant Manager or similar
• Ideally you will have previous experience in fine dining or high end restaurants
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop a diverse team.
• Positive and friendly attitude, with a willingness to work collaboratively with the team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
