Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking an Assistant Forestry Manager to help plan, design and deliver forestry activities across a portfolio of transmission projects in the north of Scotland. You will learn from Forestry Managers and project teams and contribute to safe, responsible and well-documented work processes.

Based in Scotland with 50% office time in Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness, this role offers strong development in a large infrastructure setting and exposure to land, environment and project

Qualifications

• Knowledge of forestry management practice and measurement protocols.
• Understanding of the UK Forestry Standard and related guidance.
• Experience or willingness to develop timber harvesting operations knowledge.
• Good communication and organisational skills with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support forestry planning, design and delivery across transmission projects with Forestry Managers and project teams.
• Coordinate forestry project management activity, including programme updates and records.
• Assist with identifying and managing forestry-related risks to project delivery and woodland management.
• Support forestry input at different project stages from site assessment to delivery.
• Build positive relationships with landowners, tenants, agents, contractors and forestry bodies.
