Job Description:

Are you a driven and dedicated Accountant eager to excel within a thriving business that offers a positive and friendly working environment, with hybrid working? Sheridan Maine is recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join a fantastic group reporting team.

This role offers a hybrid working pattern of 4 days working from home and 1 day in the office.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Accountant will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of the statutory accounts.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including VAT control accounts. Managing submissions, payments, and related queries.
• Conducting monthly journal review processes.
• Supporting the Financial Accountant with the preparation of all group entity VAT returns.
• Maintaining the finance reporting and budgeting system on a daily basis.
• Preparing budgets and forecasts.
• Identifying opportunities for improvements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or studying.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to establish and build relationships across the business.
• A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.
• Advanced Excel skills and good overall IT knowledge.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and present information clearly and concisely.
