Job summary

Bimplus in Manchester is seeking an ambitious Assistant Estimator to join the pre-construction team. You will assist with estimating cladding and façade projects, review drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors throughout tenders.

The Role

As Assistant Estimator, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the preparation of accurate and competitive estimates for cladding and façade projects
• Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Producing quantity take-offs and assisting with cost plans
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and pricing schedules
• Assisting with value engineering exercises and identifying cost‑saving opportunities
• Working closely with the estimating, commercial, and design teams throughout the tender process
• Maintaining accurate tender documentation and estimating records

  The Ideal Candidate

  The successful Assistant Estimator will have:

  • Previous experience in an estimating, quantity surveying, or construction support role
  • Experience within cladding, façades, roofing, glazing, or the wider construction industry would be advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • The ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Relevant construction, estimating, or quantity surveying qualifications would be advantageous
