Job summary

Thomas Gray Ltd, based at the Milton Keynes office, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the façades and cladding division. You will work with the Commercial Manager to produce accurate, competitive tenders for remediation projects and take ownership of cost estimates and take-offs.

Applicants should have estimating experience in façades or remedial construction, be commercially aware and able to interpret technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating within façades, cladding, external envelopes or remedial construction works.
• Commercial awareness and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders to deadlines.
• Experience reviewing tender documents, drawings and specifications.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.

Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join the façades and cladding division of an established SME main contractor.

Based at the company's Milton Keynes office, you will be an important member of the commercial team, working closely with the Commercial Manager to produce accurate and competitive tenders for façade and cladding remediation projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing tender documents, drawings and specifications
• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Completing accurate material and labour take-offs
• Obtaining and evaluating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value-engineering options
• Liaising with the commercial, design and operational teams
• Supporting tender handovers following successful project awards
• Maintaining accurate records of costs, quotations and tender information

The successful candidate will have previous estimating experience within façades, cladding, external envelopes or remedial construction works. You should be commercially aware, confident interpreting technical drawings and capable of managing multiple tenders to deadline.
