Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking an Assistant Educational Psychologist to support Educational and Child Psychology services across various educational settings. The role emphasizes assessment, intervention, training and research within statutory and preventative work, particularly for early years (0-5 years).

Candidate requirements include a 2:1 psychology degree, GBR/GBC registration, a driving licence and enhanced DBS. Fixed-term contract for 12 months with a salary in the 38k–41k range.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in Psychology and GBR/GBC registration as required by the British Psychological Society.
• Hold a valid driving licence and enhanced DBS.
• Significant post-qualifying experience of working directly with children and parents; experience in teaching, youth work, mentoring or mental health support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support colleagues in completing the full range of service tasks.
• Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating training for colleagues.
• Contribute to assessments of individual children and young people, especially in the Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years).
• Provide general administrative support to a team of Educational Psychologists.
• Maintain accurate records of contacts and work with children, young people and families, and provide written feedback.
