Department: Nursery Education

Location: Guildford, Surrey

Compensation: £32,822 - £33,842 / year

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that promotes the nursery’s culture and values.
  2. Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead in the absence of the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
  3. Model outstanding care and education practices.
  4. Support the Deputy Manager in delivering high-quality education in line with the N Pedagogy and Curriculum, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and conducting regular evaluations.
  5. Plan and organize daily routines, learning experiences, staffing ratios, and rotas.
  6. Ensure timely completion of risk assessments, health and safety checks, and adherence to EYFS statutory requirements.
  7. Review and update policies and procedures to promote continuous improvement and safety.
  8. Foster professional development through feedback, coaching, and training opportunities.
  9. Build strong relationships with parents, including conducting nursery tours.
  10. Manage bank and agency staff, including induction and deployment.
  11. Provide cover in Family Rooms when needed, maintaining high standards of care.
  12. Assist with personnel procedures, including interviews, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
  13. Support with invoicing and funding queries.
  14. Lead safeguarding practices and child welfare initiatives.
  15. Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the nursery.
  16. Encourage a positive, diverse, and respectful work environment.
  17. Lead by example, upholding high standards and embracing feedback.
  18. Adhere to the company's H&S policy: “Statement of Intent”.
  19. Support operational tasks to ensure smooth nursery functioning.
