Job summary

Care Dorset Ltd in Blandford Forum is seeking a part-time cook to prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks in line with approved menus. You will join a team delivering meals on wheels and other services, with 30 hours per week and alternate weekend shifts.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. The role includes generous annual leave, enhanced maternity pay, sick pay from day one, and diverse training and development opportunities.

• Commutable distance to Blandford Forum considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus.
• Assist in preparing external meals for meals-on-wheels delivery and other units.
• Check deliveries for quality, quantity and description where appropriate.
• Ensure economical use of materials and equipment for cost efficiency, quality and safety.
• Clean kitchen areas and equipment to Environmental Health standards.
• Ensure all equipment is kept in efficient working order.

Job description

• To prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks, in accordance with the menus provided.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with menus approved.
• Assist in the preparation and handling of any external meals, including pre-packed frozen meals, for meals-on-wheels delivery and the production of meals for other units.
• Check where appropriate deliveries for quality, quantity and description.
• Ensure the correct and economical use of materials and equipment, to achieve maximum cost efficiency, quality and safety.
• Cleaning kitchen areas and equipment to Environmental Health standards.
• Ensure all equipment is kept in efficient working order
• This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week.
• Shifts to include alternate weekend working
