Job summary

Care Dorset Ltd is seeking a proactive carer to support activities that promote independence for service users in residential or day care settings.

You will run group and individual activity programmes, assist with personal care when needed, and help maintain records while supporting staff and volunteers. The role involves contributing to care plans and risk assessments, with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Awareness of relevant legislation and health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager and care Staff in arranging and delivering activities for service users in residential or day care.
  • Develop activities reflecting service users' wishes and needs as assessed by staff.
  • Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
  • Maintain service user records and contribute to establishment records.
  • Provide personal care to service users as required.
  • Undertake the direction of volunteers and contribute to care plan reviews.
  • Undertake risk assessments for planned activities and participate in staff training.

Job description

Provide a range of activities providing support and opportunities to enhance and maintainthe independence of service users.

Responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Support the Manager and care Staff in the arranging and delivery of activities to a varietyof service user groups within a residential or day care setting.Develop activities which reflect service users wishes and their needs as assessed by careStaff in order to meet aims and objectives as outlined in care plans.
  • Run and supervise individual and group activity programmes.
  • Maintain service user records and contribute to other establishment records, as required.
  • Provide personal care to service users, as required.
  • Undertake the direction of volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans to meet service users’needs for social and mental stimulation.
  • In conjunction with the Manager organise and arrange group and individual activityprogrammes, and to undertake risk assessments in relation to all planned activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings and undertake training.
  • Undertake any other duties of a lesser or comparable nature, as required.
Must haves:
  • Good awareness of relevant legislation
