Job summary

Curaa is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team, working 3 days a week to support meal service and kitchen hygiene across our homes in the South and Southwest of England.

You will assist the Chef, maintain cleanliness and safety standards, and help with refreshments for residents. The role involves following recipes, keeping records, and ensuring dining areas are well stocked.

Responsibilities

  • Help the Chef to deliver food service of high quality within the home, and also with meal service to the residents.
  • Demonstrate high standards in cleanliness, food safety and hygiene in the kitchen and with equipment and processes.
  • Responsible for cleaning and washing everything to do with meals, including workstation, equipment and utensils.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with providing refreshments for residents and guests.
  • Ensure dining rooms and related areas are clean and stocked appropriately.
  • Be organized, keep records, and follow recipes.

The successful applicant will
  • Help the Chef to deliver food service of high quality within the home, and also with meal service to the residents.

  • Demonstrate the uppermost standards in cleanliness, food safety and hygiene in the kitchen area, including all equipment and appliances, adhering to all regulatory and statutory requirements and company policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for the cleaning and washing of everything to do with the meals, from the workstation and equipment utilised in food preparation to any utensils used during the meal.

  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with providing refreshments for the residents and guests at the home.

  • Guarantee that areas such as dining rooms and others are clean and stocked appropriately.

  • Be organised and good at keeping records, as well as able to follow recipes.
