What will I be doing?
- Reporting to and assisting the Senior Contract Manager, you will be responsible for achieving the goals and strategy and in the absence of the Senior Contract Manager take direct responsibility for the management of the operation.
- You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining a culture and operating process that keeps focus on health and safety issues to minimize reportable accidents, lost time, and other accidents.
- You will also assist the Senior Contract Manager in investigating, recommending, and implementing operating regimes that minimize cost and maximize profit at the depot as well as administering the business efficiently and keeping accurate records.
What are the requirements?
- Key responsibilities of the role include meeting the client in order to build relationships and understand their needs, so as to maintain long-term contracts/partnerships. You will also assist in setting key personal objectives and key performance indicators to members of the team.
- You must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels confidently, internally and externally, and have experience of managing/supervising a team of people and health and safety issues.
- Working as part of a strong team, you must have experience in fleet legislation, and practical experience of waste management or a logistical background.
- A willingness to resolve queries and problems is ideal.
- You will be required to have a full driving licence (LGV licence would be an advantage) and demonstrate good numerical skills and Microsoft Word and Excel skills. Excellent employee relations skills are ideal. These qualifications are required in addition to the work-specific qualifications of CPC National Road Haulage, COTC Level 4, and IOSH Managing Safely.
