Assistant Cluster Meetings & Events Manager
Rate of Pay / Hours: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus, TRONC, generous company benefits, training & development, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Reading
Reporting to: General Manager and Head of Meetings & Events
Description: To maximize meetings & events revenue, meeting room occupancy, and achieve budgets.
Bases: Reading
Objectives & Responsibilities:
- Work with the Head of M&E and Regional Events Manager to drive standards, processes, product, and M&E revenues.
- Manage meeting, private dining, and wedding inquiries, ensuring business is negotiated to suit hotel needs.
- Monitor weekly inquiry levels and conversion rates.
- Plan and manage team absences and holidays to ensure resource availability.
- Set and review pricing strategies for delegate rates, room hire, and F&B minimum spends.
- Develop team skills through personal development and training.
- Drive occupancy and revenue from M&E spaces and catering.
- Manage M&E offices according to SOPs and ensure compliance with brand standards.
- Use Opera Sales and Catering system effectively for enquiries and bookings.
- Ensure timely payments and credit checks for bookings.
- Support client activities and relationships to maximize revenue.
- Assist with weekly forecasts and performance analysis.
- Achieve revenue targets and budgets.
- Maintain guest, staff, and management respect.
- Promote teamwork via regular meetings.

- Ensure financial targets are met and understand budget construction.
- Handle inquiries professionally and manage client relationships.
- Maintain high service standards and department ambiance.
- Develop relationships with guests and promote the hotel.
- Maximize sales opportunities and data accuracy.
- Undertake training and development activities.
- Maintain safety, health, and safety regulations.
- Adhere to company policies and promote a professional image.
