Assistant Claims Manager – Marine (Third Party)

Location: London/Hybrid

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Claims Professional to join our Marine & Energy team in London as an Assistant Claims Manager. You will manage a diverse portfolio of claims, including Protection and Indemnity and Marine Liabilities, and support your team across multiple locations.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring team compliance with processes, procedures, statutory, and corporate standards.
  2. Managing a caseload of high-value marine liability and Protection and Indemnity claims efficiently.
  3. Providing excellent customer service and developing client relationships.
  4. Resolving customer issues promptly and effectively.
  5. Building and maintaining relationships to support business acquisition and retention, including broker management.
  6. Producing monthly and ad hoc reports on claims and reserving positions.
  7. Monitoring report accuracy and data quality.
  8. Supervising Claims staff to ensure quality and service levels.
  9. Supporting team development through PMP and PDP, identifying training needs.

About you:

  1. Good understanding of insurance, especially marine liability.
  2. Preferably ACII or legally qualified.
  3. Knowledge of MI creation techniques and report generation.
  4. Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  5. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to build relationships with influencing skills.
