Aldwych Consulting in Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer with at least 2 years' consultancy experience to join the growing team. The role covers highways, drainage and infrastructure design from initial concepts to delivery.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, produce technical drawings, apply standards (Manual for Streets, DMRB, SuDS) and develop client relationships while progressing toward ICE accreditation.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' consultancy experience.
• Experience in highways, drainage and infrastructure design.
• Understanding of relevant design standards and technical guidance.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or equivalent 3D design software.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• An interest in working towards ICE professional accreditation.

Responsabilités

• Supporting the design of highways, drainage and infrastructure schemes.
• Working on S278/S38 highways designs and drainage strategies.
• Producing high-quality technical drawings and design packages.
• Applying relevant design standards, including Manual for Streets, DMRB and SuDS guidance.
• Using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design solutions.
• Liaising with clients, developers, architects and local authorities.
• Supporting project coordination and ensuring designs meet technical requirements.
• Contributing to client relationships, networking and business development activities.
