Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer to join the development infrastructure team. You will contribute to delivering highways, drainage and associated infrastructure across residential, commercial and regeneration projects.

The role offers ownership of projects, mentoring for junior engineers and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A Cambridge office with hybrid working is available, along with a competitive salary and comprehensive

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Consultancy experience on UK development infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design highways and drainage infrastructure including S38, S278, S104, SuDS, earthworks and site levels.
• Produce detailed infrastructure designs using Civil 3D and drainage software.
• Work with architects, planners, clients and local authorities to deliver solutions.
• Manage projects through planning and detailed design with quality and programme delivery.

Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer - Cambridge

I'm working with a highly regarded engineering consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Cambridge team with the appointment of a Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer.

The consultancy has an excellent reputation and a strong pipeline of work across the residential, commercial, retail, education, healthcare and regeneration sectors, delivering infrastructure solutions from planning through to detailed design and construction.

The role offers excellent scope to take ownership of projects while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to develop your technical and project management experience.

The Role

You'll support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of development infrastructure projects across Cambridge, the wider region and the UK.

Responsibilities will include:

• Designing highways and drainage infrastructure including S38, S278, S104 agreements, SuDS, earthworks and site levels.
• Producing detailed infrastructure designs using Civil 3D together with InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow or similar software.
• Working closely with architects, planners, clients and local authorities to deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
• Managing projects through planning and detailed design while ensuring technical quality and programme delivery.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate.
• Working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality development infrastructure projects.

What We're Looking For

• Consultancy experience delivering UK development infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in highways and drainage design for residential and commercial developments.
• Experience using Civil 3D and industry-standard drainage software.
• Good understanding of S38, S278, S104, SuDS and UK design standards.
• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Working towards or already holding professional accreditation with the ICE would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues and other project stakeholders.
