Job summary

Bupa UK in Macclesfield is seeking an Assistant Chef to join the Mount Hall Care Home kitchen. The role focuses on preparing fresh, nutritious meals for residents, maintaining high hygiene standards, and contributing to a welcoming dining experience.

You will train and support kitchen staff, follow COSHH and HACCP guidelines, manage orders and deliveries, and help with special events and seasonal activities while upholding the care home's values and resident-focused approach.

Qualifications

• A passion for cooking with previous experience working in a fresh food kitchen and relevant hygiene certificates.
• You want to create and deliver an excellent dining experience at each meal and make our residents feel at home.
• Open to new ideas, you’ll have an innovative approach to cooking whilst always adhering to high standards.
• You’ll enjoy communicating with others and you’ll cherish the little moments with our residents, sharing your love of food with them.

Responsibilities

• Using your passion for cooking to create varied and nutritious menus in line with dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
• Putting forward ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience, helping our residents to feel at home.
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, company policies and procedures, budgets, managing orders and deliveries.
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities, such as summer fetes, Christmas parties and birthdays (as required)
