Job summary

Caring Homes Group Ltd. is seeking a Sous Chef for The Pines Care Home in Wandsworth. The role offers a permanent position with a 40-hour week and a competitive hourly rate of £15.75. You will support the Head Chef in delivering nutritious, home‑style meals for residents in a 50-bed facility.

Responsibilities include menu planning, kitchen operations, staff mentorship, and coordinating with other departments for events and dietary needs, while ensuring safety and high standards of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
• Level 2 Catering & Hospitality qualification.
• Allergen awareness certificate desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in planning and preparing high‑quality meals for residents.
• Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
• Mentor kitchen staff and foster a collaborative environment.
• Create and update menus to meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Coordinate with other departments for events and dietary accommodations.
• Communicate with residents and relatives to ensure satisfaction and needs are met.

Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

• Level 2 or above in Food Safety.
• Level 2 Catering and Hospitality Qualification.
• Allergen and Intolerance Awareness Certificate desired but not essential.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen.
