Job summary

Caring Homes Group is seeking a talented Sous Chef for The Pines in Wandsworth. You will assist the Head Chef, plan menus, and prepare nutritious meals that delight residents across a 50-bed home.

This full-time role is 40 hours per week, paying £15.75 per hour. You’ll work in a supportive kitchen that emphasises well-being, ongoing development, and a friendly team focused on high standards and personalised dining for every resident.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Safety required.
  • Level 2 Catering and Hospitality Qualification required.
  • Allergen and Intolerance Awareness Certificate desired but not essential.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for residents.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards.
  • Support and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Create and update menus that align with residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate with other departments for events and dietary accommodations.
  • Communicate with residents and relatives to ensure satisfaction and continual feedback.
