Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join a Chartered Building Surveyors practice in the Heathfield area.

You will support surveys, inspections and the preparation of technical reports across residential and commercial projects, gaining hands-on experience alongside senior professionals. This graduate‑to‑entry role offers APC support, a clear development path and a supportive team environment as you progress toward chartership while gaining varied project

Qualifications

• A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant construction-related discipline.
• 1+ years Building Surveying experience preferred, though fresh graduates will be considered.
• Genuine interest in developing a career within Building Surveying.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residential and commercial building surveys and inspections.
• Support the preparation of building survey reports and condition reports.
• Assist with identifying and investigating building defects.
• Support schedules of condition and dilapidations inspections.
• Assist with property maintenance, repair and refurbishment advice.
• Support party wall matters and related surveying instructions.

Assistant Building Surveyor Job Overview:

You will support the delivery of a range of building surveying services, assisting with property inspections, building surveys, defect investigations and the preparation of technical reports. The role will provide exposure to different property types and surveying instructions, allowing you to develop your understanding of building pathology, construction methods and professional surveying practice.
