Zodiac Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor in London to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy. The role offers a clear path toward Chartered status, working alongside experienced Surveyors on a varied portfolio across commercial, residential and mixed-use properties.

You will undertake surveys, assist with reports, schedules and specs, support dilapidations and maintenance, and contribute to contract administration and major works.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a closely related RICS-accredited discipline.
• Some relevant post-graduate Building Surveying experience.
• Working towards the RICS APC, or committed to starting the process.
• Good technical understanding of building construction and pathology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in consultancy.
• Ambition to develop into a well-rounded Chartered Building Surveyor.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building surveys and inspections across commercial and residential properties
• Assisting with technical reports, schedules and specifications

Assistant Building Surveyor London | £35,000 - £42,000 + benefits

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Graduate Building Surveyor to join a growing, multidisciplinary building consultancy in central London.

This role is suited to someone who has gained some practical experience since graduating and is now looking for a clear route towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor.

You will work alongside experienced Chartered Surveyors on a varied portfolio of projects across commercial, residential and mixed-use property. The work covers building surveys, dilapidations, defect diagnosis, contract administration, planned maintenance, major works and project management.

The role offers genuine exposure to the wider building surveying lifecycle, rather than being restricted to one area of consultancy.

The Role

About the Consultancy

You will be joining an established, growing consultancy with a strong technical focus and a director-led structure.

The business works across the full property lifecycle, from acquisition and building surveys through to refurbishment, major works, compliance and long-term asset management. Its multidisciplinary team includes building surveyors, engineers, designers and building safety specialists, giving you the opportunity to work alongside different technical disciplines and broaden your understanding of the built environment.

The London team works from a central London office and has experience across a wide range of commercial and residential assets, including complex major works and remediation projects.
