The consultancy provides a full range of Building Surveying services to a varied client base, with projects and instructions delivered nationally. This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to work across a broad range of professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will join an established team and support the delivery of a varied portfolio of Building Surveying instructions. The role will provide exposure to both professional and project work, with opportunities to develop existing technical knowledge and take increasing responsibility for client delivery. The role will include: Condition surveys and building inspectionsBuilding pathology and defect diagnosisDilapidationsParty Wall mattersLandlord and Tenant workDeveloping client briefsPreparing specifications and schedules of workTechnical and statutory compliance, including Planning and Building RegulationsJCT Contract Administration, including Minor Works and Intermediate contractsSupporting project delivery from inception through to completionLiaising with clients, contractors and other professional consultantsAttending site and client meetingsPreparing reports and professional documentationAssisting with project cost controlWorking across nationally based projects and travelling as required
Minimum 3 years' post-degree Building Surveying experienceRICS-accredited Building Surveying degreeCurrently working towards final APC assessment or recently sat APCWorking knowledge across a range of core Building Surveying servicesStrong written and verbal communication skillsConfident and professional approach, particularly when client facingGood negotiation and interpersonal skillsStrong numeracy and attention to detailAbility to work independently while contributing positively to a wider teamFull clean UK driving licenceAccess to your own vehicleWillingness to travel nationally
